Yes, it is rather late, but as we all enter 2014 may our confidence be in the Lord who is the same, yesterday, today and forever.
As Moderator, I enjoyed a break over Christmas and it was really great to be back in Kilfennan for the Christmas Day service, the last Sunday morning in 2013 and for the Watch Night Service on 31st December.
As a family it was great that the 4 of us were together for the Christmas period but all to quickly Hannah returned to her nursing duties – night shift on Boxing Night.
On Sunday last we make our way through torrential rain to Joymount in Carrickfergus where I was invited to preach, speak to the children and dedicate Memorial Gifts – new doors and Communion Ware. Unfortunately the minister, the Rev Richard Graham (ex Castelderg) was unwell and unable to be present but his assistant and the Clerk of Session looked after us.
Yesterday (Wednesday 8th) we were present in the Assembly Buildings (AKA Church House) to conduct a Communion service for the staff.
