General Assembly – Presbyterian Church of Wales

On Sunday 14th July we crossed over from Dublin to Holyhead and travelled down to Aberystwyth to attend the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Wales.  The PCW is considerably smaller than PCI and is largely Welsh speaking.  All the Sessions were in Welsh and we had translation through headsets.  On the opening day I brought greetings from PCI and even managed a line of two of Welsh (at least it gave them a laugh!).  I was intrigued to notice how PCW is facing many of the same issues as PCI such as re-structuring, issues regarding sexual orientation, falling attendances and membership.

We were made to feel very welcome by our Welsh Presbyterian friends.  Included are several photos of our trip away which also included a trip over to Birmingham to see Hannah.   there are photos of Karen and me with, Lorna Hood, the Moderator of P C Scotland and her husband, of the Moderator and Clerk of PCW and of Hannah and me carrying on with outfits at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre where we saw the play Titus AndronicusP1000348P1000351P1000454
